Cruise into History: The Cabi Special by Ben Soto

Board of the Week: Cabi Special by Ben Soto 🏄‍♀️

Hey there, surf squad! This week, we're cruising back to the good ol' USA, where the waves are epic, and the vibes are electric. And what makes the roads in the States stand out? Those iconic yellow taxis, baby!  So buckle up because our Board of the Week is none other than the rad Cabi Special, handcrafted by the one and only Ben Soto for Soto Surfcraft.

This beauty isn't just any new custom board; it's a slice of NYC nostalgia blended with the salty spray of surf adventures. Picture this: sprayed in Montana Colors to mirror the vintage NYC cabs we've all seen on screen, this board is a homage to the wild times the owner spent tearing up the Big Apple. But it's not just about the city slickers – it's also a tribute to Luv's very first surfing escapade.

With dimensions of 8’0” x 22" x 3 1/8" and a rounded square tail, this mid-length marvel is designed to catch waves like a champ. Plus, with a 2+1 fin setup, you'll be carving those waves like a pro in no time. Crafted with care, it's glassed with polyester on a 6+4oz deck and 6oz fibreglass at the bottom for that perfect balance of strength and style.

And let's not forget the man behind the magic – Ben Soto, keeping the spirit of legendary shaper Bruce Jones alive and well.

Bruce's legacy in shaping is as deep as the ocean itself, starting out in the swinging '60s and honing his craft with some of the greats like Hobie, Gordie, and Dick Brewer. His boards are all about that classic Cali style – simple, sleek, and built to ride those waves like a dream.
