Tomson surfboards were made in Prince Alfred street in Durban, There was Bruce Jackson and Graham Smith spray-painted and laminated the Tompson boards. and Glen D’Arcy. Shaun was on the World tour, and Bruce joined him. That time Glen D’Arcy worked for Tomson surfboards from 1978 to 1980. Glen D’Arcy left and headed to Jeffreys Bay, starting Sea Flight and other surfboard labels.
Jimmy Boyd from Addington street was sanding the boards. Erni Tomson, Shaun Tomson’s father was also involved in the Tomson label.
This board is signed and believed to be shaped by Bruce Jackson before he went to Australia in 1978.
Several surfboard brands were shaped in the Tompson factory. The Burn label, Town and Country, Tomson label and one other one that we can’t recall.
